WEST END AIRPORT (MYGW), GRAND BAHAMA – NOW OPEN

The West End Airport – MYGW, a private airport, is now available for use as of June 1, 2014. This allows private pilots traveling to Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour to fly directly to the closest airport to the resort. West End Airport is 6,000' in length and is open 7 days a week from 8am-5pm daily.

Landing Fees Raised at Grand Case – TFFG

Landing fees: $50US up to 2 metric tons. $62US for 2 to 4 metric tons. Parking fees start at $25/night up to 2 metric tons for up to a week. Parking fees doubled after one week.

Bahamas Civil Aviation Exemption from Manditory 406MHz Emergency Locator Transmitter

Effective February 1st, 2013, the installation of 406 MHz emergency locator transmitters (ELTs) will not be mandatory for any general aviation aircraft flying to and/or within the Islands of the Bahamas. This exemption applies to all Bahamas Commercial Operators, generalaviation aircraft flying in or over the Bahamas, balloons, gliders and lighter than air.
